Bismarck, N.D., February 23, 2007 – The Dakota Wizards announced this afternoon that they have acquired guard Corey Williams from the available player pool.
Williams, a 6’3 guard, is no stranger to the D-League nor of Wizards head coach Dave Joerger. Williams was a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce earlier this season appearing in 15 games and averaged 12.5 points along with over four assists per game. The Alabama State product played for Coach Joerger and the Skyforce during the 2005-06 CBA season and averaged nearly a double-double with 14.2 points and 9.8 assists.
Williams, who made a brief appearance on the Wizards IBA roster during the 1999-2000 season, will wear jersey number eight when the Wizards head to Colorado for a makeup game with the 14ers on Monday February 26th at 8pm CST.
Williams replaces forward Tremaine Fowlkes who was waived by the Dakota Wizards.
